Color Chart to Test Possibilities

I had a trip coming up and I wanted to flesh out my existing travel palette from its existing nine colors to twenty. I have several versions of various hues made by different manufactures. I have several tubes of the same color of yellow, Hansa Yellow Medium. How different is that from my more regular Hansa Yellow Light? What would make for a variety of greens, good sky colors, and colorful walls, and flowers in the garden? This is a color chart testing out 19 hues.

Start of a Mixed Media Rooster a la Eileen Sorg

I took a workshop over the weekend with the fabulous and very talented Eilen Sorg. The project was of this rooster. The first day was spent inking and watercoloring. The second day was spent starting in on the colored pencil magic. The watercolor and ink alone always looks surprisingly good, but once the colored pencil is added on top, it's amazing how realistic and alive the pictures become. I have lots of work left on this rooster, but it is definitely coming along!

What I learned from this is avocados are a challenge to draw and have look right with just a fountain pen.
