Dragon Fruit
A couple variations of dragon fruit. I got one because they are such interesting looking things. I find the taste somewhat bland, however. I drew this partly for myself and partly because how I was drawing satisfied a homework assignment for Danny Gregory's klass in the currently ongoing Sketchbook Skool's Exploring klass. He asked students to work on something with hatching and stippling to help create volume and depth in an object.
Pomegranate Chocolate Wrapper
This is the last drawing in my food sketchbook. Done! Chocolate wrappers have gotten more like wine labels - little pieces of art work in their own right. I admit to having gotten this chocolate bar for its packaging and not necessarily for what was inside.
Baby Pineapple!
Here's a bright baby pineapple that I saw growing in the Valley of Viñales, Cuba on an organic farm. I don't know if it was the species of pineapple that caused it to be so pinkish red or whether all pineapples when young are this color. It was lovely!
A spread of color!
This is a page of extended two color charts for four of the colors in my 24 color palette. I mix the one color with the other 23 to see what range of colors can be created. Here the four main colors are Cobalt Violet (Winsor & Newton), Bright Violet (Holbein), French Ultramarine (Winsor & Newton), and Cobalt Blue (Winsor and Newton).
